Mustang Project...

This is the first post of our Mustang project. We bought the car as a fun play toy for weekend driving, but it's really turned into a passion. Once you get hooked on this stuff it's hard to turn it off. We've documented everything we've done to this point and will continue to do so through this blog.

Car Stock Specs:
67 Coupe
Candy Apple Red (original)
Black Standard Interior
289 2 bbl
Numbers Matching
Dual H Pipe Exhaust
Power Steering

The car was in great shape when we bought it. Although the front frame rails and torque box are rusted, the rest of the car, including the floor has no/minimal surface rust. The interior is pristine! Only needing a few minor repairs (rewired the horn, replaced the horn, wipers, brake adjustment, install seat belts and replace a tailpipe), it passed inspection with flying colors.

The car sounds much meaner than it is, but we are well on our way to changing that. With minor motor up grades in the works, she should run as good as she sounds. These upgrades include Edelbrock 4 bbl intake & 650 carb, electronic Petronix II ignition and coil, oversized cap (reduces crossfire), 9mm Ford racing plug wires, Windage Tray, and shorty Nickel plates headers with the installation of a new export brace and monte carlo bar.

Non performance motor upgrades include new water pump & timing chain, oval brushed aluminum air cleaner, stainless steel bolts replacing all originals, Milodon oil pan, oil pump & shaft replacement, all new wiring for motor compartment, Ford racing valve covers and a new 3 row radiator with fan guard. She should run like new (but hopefully a little better!).

The pic is what the car looked like when we bought it.
